We’re still here, guys. We’ve been tweaking the mixes for our new record, writing a bunch of new songs, rehearsing all of our old stuff, and planning for our record release. Wait’ll you see the cover art. Beautiful stuff. I don’t want to spoil the surprise by giving too many details yet. Just know it’s going to be awesome.

Hi Gang,

I’ve got to admit, I’m a little starstruck. That’s because we’re opening for Sloan at North Star in Philly on September 17th! These guys are huge. They’ve been around for 20 years now and have made a massive impact on the Canadian indie music scene. They even won a Juno award for best alternative album (Canada’s version of the Grammys). Now it’s time to show them how Philly fans like to rock the fuck out.

Here’s what we’ll do. Let’s all meet up at the North Star on the 17th, drink a shitload of beer, The Codes will take the stage, the crowd will go bonkers, then after our set we’ll all get nuts for Taylor Locke and The Roughs followed by Sloan. They won’t know what hit ‘em.

Summer ain’t easy

Dearest lovers,

We’re not hiding from you. We’re working feverishly to make you happy. How, you ask? Well, there’s the album of course. Lots of studio time, writing some new songs, mixing and whatnot. I think you’ll like it when all is said and done.

And then there are the gigs. We want to play venues that make you smile. So we’re working on setting up another show at North Star and hopefully a gig at Johnny Brenda’s. I’ll let you know when them shits are set up.

Summer is for sweating

Hi Gang,

What do you say we all get together and drink ice cold beer, play a little rock music, and celebrate handsome Joe Yanick’s birthday? Yes? Awesome!

The Codes are playing at Kung Fu Necktie in Northern Liberties on July 9th. Stop by and give Joe a happy birthday high five. It’s an earlier show, so there will be plenty of time to hit a couple other bars afterwards.

Also – We’re making progress in the studio. Nearly all of our tracking is complete. Next up: a few overdubs followed by a lot of mixing. Keep up to date on our progress by following The Codes on Twitter.
